Swanton, VT, Value-Added Facility

Walking For a Cure

In May 2018, the Plumrose Swanton facility held its 3rdannual Walking for a Cure to benefit the American Cancer Society. Through the exceptional help and support of numerous team members, family members and friends, the event has grown into one of the facility’s largest and most meaningful community achievements.

All proceeds raised from donations, t-shirt sales, raffle ticket sales and the facility’s famous, delicious barbeque ribs went to the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge in Burlington, VT. Within walking distance of the Cancer Center at the University of Vermont Medical Center, the Burlington, VT, Hope Lodge provides cancer patients, their families and their caregivers a place to stay free of charge when their best hope for effective treatment may not be close to home. Consisting of a beautiful building and grounds, Hope Lodge offers patients comfy living suites, meals, laundry facilities, transport and 24 hour care during chemo and radiation treatments. All Plumrose Swanton team members were delighted to raise more than $6,500 through the Walking for a Cure event, knowing that the funds would help so many in their own community during such a tiring time.
