Pilgrim’s Mexico
National Safety Plan
In 2018, the Pilgrim’s Mexico team developed a National Safety Plan to better ensure the safety and wellbeing of all team members. Under this plan, a Health and Safety System was implemented, which aims to reduce all risks that contribute to unsafe acts and conditions. The comprehensive system integrates multiple components, including team member training, policies and procedures, communication, risk analysis for each operation, strengthened ownership among all team members, a normative matrix and road safety. Through this plan, the team hopes to achieve zero accidents across their facilities. After implementation, Pilgrim’s Mexico reduced its DART rate 76 percent from 2017 to 2018.
