Guest Chefs Visit Great Southern Farms

In 2018, 11 guest chefs visited the Great Southern farms in Victoria, where they were able to learn about the origins of the cattle and lambs in the Great Southern program and meet the farmers who supply livestock to the JBS Australia branded programs. Additionally, the group visited the JBS Australia Brooklyn beef and small stock processing facility to learn about production and grading systems to ensure the quality delivered in the premium southern brands.

 The chefs were later invited to share their experiences with their staff and customers, and educate them about the program and provenance of the beef and lamb. The visit and information aimed to increase the chefs’ confidence to add the Great Southern branded products to more of their restaurant menus and function/event menus. Through this event, the JBS Australia team was ultimately able to build closer relationships between themselves and the end users of the product, while also building a link between the supply chain and producers.
