RVTV Cy-Hawks Community Tailgate

In September 2018, JBS USA Ottumwa team members grilled and gave out more than 800 “pork chops on a stick” at the Cy-Hawks Community Tailgate put on by RVTV at the Bridge View Center and the Ottumwa High School football game at Schafer Stadium. Each year, television personalities from local WHO TV in Des Moines, IA, take an RV to visit five cities across the state during the week leading up to the University of Iowa vs. Iowa State football game. In 2018, Ottumwa was chosen as one of the team’s stops, so JBS USA, the Ottumwa High School Athletic Department, Bridge View Center, Mayor’s office, Ottumwa Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Ottumwa Convention and Visitors Bureau partnered to put together a unique and memorable event to showcase their town. Safety Pig even attended to show support for his favorite team (Team JBS USA)! The evening of fun concluded with a firework show sponsored, in part, by JBS USA Ottumwa. It was a great time of friendly competition and community involvement, and our team members were proud to be a part of it.
